Just another WordPress.com site

Hello world!

Welcome, my friends, to WordPress.com.

This is the place that we will be blogging our thoughts for the next few weeks. It will give you a taste of blogging and why it might help you in your journey. My initial thoughts were to allow you to simply journal on ecollege, but the idea of writing without an actual, live audience kind of bugs me. Without an audience, you’re writing in a vacuum. This way, what we say will be out there for everybody to see. We can tell our friends. And classmates. And maybe we’ll win a few fans. And we can get a taste of what we might be asking our students to do.

Dive Right In!

Much of what I will be asking you to do will be taking leaps of faith, trying on new tech. But remember my motto:

Integrating technology is like going to eat at a buffet. Try a little bit of a lot of things, but go back to those things that really are yummy.

Don’t try to do it all. But try. All efforts will be rewarded!

So set up your own WordPress blog, send me your link, and type away furiously. Sometimes I’ll ask you in class to address a specific topic. But barring that, you should be looking at what we’ve learned so far and reflecting on how that could make you a better teacher or how you could envision a site or a new nugget of knowledge could be integrated into your own teaching.

I can’t wait to get reading!
