Just another WordPress.com site

I’m a workaholic.

I get it from my papa.

And now I’m seeing all over, in all the media I follow, how important it is to take a break.

With help, I’ve come to see that the energy I pour into my work is due, mostly, to avoidance of interacting with others. I couch it in trying to be a better teacher. But really, I spend a lot of time “multitasking,” which is to say that I do a lot of stupid stuff.

So I’m going to work REALLY HARD in the next week or so at trying to reach out, interact, enjoy stuff and think a little bit off my computer. Today I even when out for a latte with a friend. It was good.

The problem is that what I enjoy is my work. So that may be a challenge.

Since the weather is so un-wintery, I think I’m going to try to get outside a little more. And let my squirrelly brain do what it likes while I ride my bike.

I hope that wherever you are, if you are reading this post, that you are happy, healthy, and looking forward to the days ahead.

Thanks to Mind/Shift for giving me some ideas …
